    Hornady LNL Classic Question

    For this LNL classic kit:

    Is a shell holder required?

Shouldn't be, since it's suppose to be all you need, less dies. Just want to make sure I don't need to order anything else.

If so, the kit and dies ...and ready to reload, right? I know there's more "you'll want..." goodies to be had; Just asking about the first batch out the door. Does that cover it? Thanks for the help!

Unless you are buying a kit for a specific caliber, then I doubt s shellholder is included as the shellholder is caliber specific, like the dies.

You will also need shell holders like the link you posted. The kit does not look like it comes with a complete set of shell holders. If you buy Lee dies, then they throw in a shell holder with the dies. If you buy another brand then you'll also need the shell holder.

I have a set of these Lee shell holders in the garage so I don't have to worry about needing a size and not having it. Mine came in a cool little box though.

yea it will not come with a shellholder or a case trimmer.

I would also suggest getting primer feed tubes if you plan to use the press for priming. You can hand feed the primers one at a time but that's tedious, or you can use the hand primer but I prefer priming on the press.

You need a shell holder for whatever calibre you want to load. As XDRoX, I bought a full kit of Lee shell hoders from MidwayUSA for little cost.

By the way, I have the L-N-L and the L-O-L AP (among others). Not much more to go to the AP.

Also, have a Lee turret that is progressive, and great for low cost.

I like Hornady and RCBS ... but Lee slays them cost-wise.

Like the above posters said...It does not come with a shellholder set. What calibers do you plan on reloading?

For my 308, I have the RCBS Competition set. But for my everyday use, I got the Lee set with all of them. Comes in a nice little green box too.

If you are reloading bottle neck cases, then you will need a trimmer.

Buy extra One Shot case lube also.
Headspace case gauge will be handy
            More of the die bushings

It really comes down to what you want to reload.

PS: Find the Lee Factory Crimp solves a lot of issues loading CF pistol rounds.

My Lee come in red boxes, my RCBS in green, my Hereters in biege, my Lyman in black, ......

They all seem to work just fine and I use Lee unless I am loading for benchrest accuracy, which I don't do much any more.

Reloading .308 Winchester for bolt action target rifle.

I wnt to start with a single actin setup and use a neck die fr the first 3/4 loads.

Will other shell holders, likeRCBS or Lee, fit he Hornady LNL?

Yes....RCBS shellholders will work in the Hornady LnL classic. I use them myself, along with Hornady shellholders...that being said, the Hornady and RCBS have different height dimensions....beware when setting up. Anotherwards, don't set up to seat or resize with the Hornady shellholder and then throw the RCBS without checking. I also had a shellholder from Hornady that was out of spec...replacement due in this week
