    Best Reloading Press

I am interested to know what people who reload think about equipment, ease of use, reliability, longevity, warranty, etc.

I know I want a progressive press and I will start with .38 spl. I am building my first AR so 556/223 would be next in line. Future purchases will include .45 acp and 9mm.

I don't mind starting with the basics and adding on as I go but I only want to do this once. My goal is to keep enough for practice and to create a decent stockpile over time. As far as listing different models I'll just appreciate any advise from all of you but I'm more interested in what brand will serve me best over time.

I used to reload and quit. It's been several years and I'm in a position to begin reloading again.
It was mostly RCBS in the past.

        Now: It will be Dillon.

Blue Koolaid please. I've only tried Dillon and Lee progressives, I just couldn't get the Lee to work right for me. I'm just not mechanically inclined. Had a bit of a hassle setting up the Dillon but now it runs without a hitch.

Well I have a Hornady LNL AP progressive and RCBS Rock Chucker. Both work great. The Hornady is equivalent to a XL650 in features, but is cheaper and is way faster in caliber changes. I have used a 650 and 550 and they work great and as advertised.

As for dies I own, Lee, Redding, Forster. All work great and have their place.

If you will own only 1 press for all those calibers, but mainly pistol, the Hornady LNL AP will serve you well.

Ive had a Hornady progressive and a Lee progressive. I still own an RCBS single stage. I prefer the Dillons hands down. I love my Dillon

while I own a lee and like it very much, I researched and am confident dillon is better all around. with that said, I am happy with my lee and will run it til it dies!

The only problem is that I think most people have only tried one press maybe two.

Yup! I voted for hornady because it's all i know (I only have a lnl), and I know all the blue koolaid drinkers were going to smash hornady anyways so I had to do my part!

I own RCBS, Lee, and Dillon. Owned a Lyman, but sold it, and was very disappointed in it. Very sloppy.

My buddy has two LNL's that I've loaded on.

There's no question in my mind that Dillon is the best, hands down. LNL in close second. But then again Dillon costs more. Like with most things you get what you pay for, there's no free lunch.

Lee progressives should not be considered against Dillon or Hornady. The only thing they have to offer is price, that's it. I do really like Lee's classic turret press however.

If you have the money and want the best consider a 550b, a 650, or an LNL. If you want a case feeder I wouldn't get the 550b. 650 or LNL. If you have $2k to drop, then I'd get the 1050.

And ignore all the Dillon fanboy comments. If they had a Dillon, they'd be a fanboy too.
