I think the language in the other thread was poorly written. This is an update.
I loaded and shot 40 or so rounds of moly-coated hard cast bullets far beyond "standard limits" of 1400 fps. I want to stress this did not push any pressure limits for my gun, published load data, or any SAMMI cartridge spec. The only limit pushed was accepted travel speed for a (dry) lead bullet.
The barrel was left with a full, uniform, and conformal coating of material inside. Repeated scraping with a brass brush did not remove it, nor did a chemical lead removal product. When combined the coating will come out but not easily. A brass brush or sharp object can scratch the coating but it is really tough in general. A patch soaked in solvent will yield minimal material removal. It really gives a (false or real, I don't know) impression that the barrel is fast/easy to clean.
I can not find "traditional" (internet documented pictures) signs of leading in my gun. The lands are clean and pronounced. The barrel close to the cylinder looks the same as the barrel close to the muzzle. There are no "flakes" of material, no spaghetti. Passing a dry brass brush through the barrel will yield no solid (lead) particles. The only reason I have even the remotest of possible concern is that the bore is not stainless colored anymore, but a dull grey (light moly colored, not as light as a dry cast lead color but lighter than any moly coated bullet I've ever seen).

What do you guys think? Just moly coated the barrel? No lead in there? Any suggestions or warnings? Anything I can try or test with regards to cleaning, loading, investigating, or all three? Just leave it in there and enjoy shooting? The rounds I loaded are accurate to 25 yards. REALLY accurate, they shoot better than I do, I'd like to try 50+. If I can prove to myself that my gun is OK to shoot a couple hundred of these in a range trip (minimum between cleaning) rather than just 40, I will be very very happy.
Thoughts? Blast and be happy or reflect more?
