Anybody here reload .50 AE for a Desert Eagle?

I just got into reloading....And am having trouble finding most of the components for .50 AE.

So my question for you awesome and knowledgeable folks is: Where do you guys buy your bullets and casings for this round?

My follow up question is: Is .500 the same bullet, or is it different?

I have ordered a manual but it has not got here yet, and I'm just curious.

    Any information is much appreciated.

Yes, .500 is the same. Check Midway for 300 GR hollowpoints, in stock. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=270410

I usually buy once fired brass on gun forums. I scored some 299 once fired brass on this forum not too long ago for a pretty good price (20 cent a piece shipped). I now have around 600 pieces of brass on hand plus 300 rounds of factory new ammo put away. As far as the projos go, I usually buy them from Midway.

        My DE load
        .50 AE 300 grain XTP - 30.5 grains of H110 - CCI LPM primer

As always work up to see what works for you.

          Thanks...

Is there a powder you would recomedend for both .50 ae and .40s&w, or is it better to use two different powders?

I personally use H110 which is a magnum powder. Dont think you can use H110 for .40 cal.

Use different powders for 40sw and 50. H110, win296 (same), 2400, and aa#9 all work pretty good. Starline is the best for new brass. Pay close attention to your data for primers, some data is for mag primers and some not.
