    Reloading Class at Angeles-worth taking?

It's kinda expensive at $125 and I didn't pre register so they may not even let me in, but there's a 2 day class tomorrow starting at 830 am I believe.

Has anybody taken it? Is it worth doing?

Honestly it seems like a lot of time and money, but I don't have anybody to show me how to reload so maybe it's worth it? I can weld and do light fabrication and whatnot, so I think I can read a book and learn to reload on my own, but I don't know what I don't know, so I thought I'd put it out there.

    thanks in advance!

you can buy a lot of reloading stuff with 125.00 I do not know a thing about the class, but you can start to reload without taking a class. Manuals, then forums (there are some good people on this one)....even youtube has some really good tutorials.

If you're a hands on guy, light work on guns\etc, then you'll be fine (I'm not knocking the class...it may be damn well worth every penny?)

    I just started reloading 2+ 3 weeks ago..there's lots to learn...did I mention a manual

$125 does that include a free press? It cost me $25 to take a reloading class @ lytle creek back when Jeff Oliver used to give the classes.... Come to Ontario and I'll show you for free

Someone in your area will come to your house and give you a lesson for a 12 pack from this forum, just ask. If you want to drive down to SD I'll be happy to show you the ropes. That sounds a little expensive to me. Classes at my local reloading store are $50 for a day. If $125 ain't nothin to you, may as well give it a try. But if money is an issue then you can definitely learn on your own, or like I said just ask around for a lesson.

Not good value for someone like yourself.

If you are handy enough to weld and do light fabrication, you are plenty handy enough to learn yourself.

Buy the Lee 2nd edition or the Lyman reloading guide and read either one through. The Lee book is on sale right now at Midway for like $9 +shp.

The money you would spend on the class will go a long way to getting you started.

After you get done reading, you will know what you want and if you do run into any head scratchers, as posted above, you can just come on this forum and get straight answers in a few hours.

            Just my $.02.

Lyman 49th and the instructions that come with the equipment will be sufficient.

After that, Calguns will help even more.

Use the $125 and buy a press.

Buy a book, it's cheaper and will last longer. Save your $ for reloading tools and components instead of making others rich.

You can take the class, but you'll end up buying a couple books anyways.
Start with the books. If you then need the class, take it.

Sounds expensive to me. I'll show you if you near SCV/Magic Mountain.

I just started myself. Watched youtube for hours and read the manual. Would have been nice if I knew someone in the sfv that was already reloading to give me a crash course but I'm sure you'll learn faster once you start the loading process. If you feel like something is wrong then it'll be a good idea to ask some people on the forums.

                        Thank you very much guys!

I read over the description a bit more and I guess it's an NRA sanctioned? class and it comes with some kind of manual and you practice reloading some rounds, FWIW.

With y'alls suggestions I decided not to spend the money. I just think it's too much money and time for what it is. If I can't figure something out - or I should say *when* I can't figure something out - I'll ask a question here or in another reloading forum.

None of you said take a class or you'll blow your face off, so that's encouraging right there heh

                        Thank you all again
