308 and 30.06 share the same bullet?

    Thanks,

sure, some crossover into .300 WM, and 7.62X39, I am sure there are others too. both use a projectile that is .308 inches in diameter

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Buy a reloading manual and read it.

Lots of cartridges use a .308 bullet. Just as many use a 6.5mm (.264) bullet or 6mm (.243) bullet or a 7mm (.284) bullet etc.

The 308 win is basically just a shortened 30.06

I loaded up a bunch of .30 cal. half jacket plinkers for my Savage 30-06. Was able to cut the powder charge and save even more money. Good enough for the range.

At least we can shoot more, better quality stuff...that's my justification.

Will get better results when the cartridge is run at higher pressures (within specs of course).
