    14/30 Walnut media?

I know we can get the 12 grit Walnut at Harbor freight. Is the 14/30 good enuf cause its cheaper. 14/30 is about .02 -0.05 inch in size. vs 12 grit .09 in.

If it's too small you might have some media getting stuck in the flash holes. You can still use it, just make sure you check each case and make sure it's free of debris.

Would it be fine then to tumble before decapping, to save a step on this media? Or do still need to check the flash hole after decapping?

The walnut media I use in my tumbler averages .030" in diameter. It works fine, but all my tumbling is before decap.

I use 12/20 walnut that I buy in 50 lbs. bag from vendor that sells blasting equipment. Not sure how that compares to 14/30 as far as size goes.

I use Lizard bedding material (crushed walnut shell) from Petco for about $12 for a huge bag. It leaves then very shinny!
