    32 S&W Long anyone?

Ok, my 1970 Colt Cobra is in 10 day jail and thought I would start off with commercial ammo and save the brass to reload it. Anyone here reloading 32np/SWL? As the Cobra is alloy framed, I think I am going to stay away from Titegroup which is what I usually use for pistol (too energetic-the data I see shows higher pressures than other loads), so any suggestions on a good powder? 231 or HP-38?

This little gun is turning into a project... gotta get dies, conversion kit for my 650, bullets...

Any crappy ammo I should stay away from?

I can't speak to commercial ammo. I've never bought any in this caliber.

As far as powder is concerned, Bullseye is the classic powder for .32s&w long. Accurate No.2 also does well. These are for loads with hollow base wadcutters and can be mind bogglingly accurate. I shoot the Hornady swaged wadcutters.

I've also had good results with Trail Boss. I ignore the available data and just load to the base of the bullet with wadcutters in this caliber. Remember powder compression is a no no with Trail Boss.

I cast my projectiles(lee 96g) and use 700x for hot loads.
