I see some people use walnut first then corn while others use corn first then walnut. Does it really matter?

I use the two Lyman types: walnut media with the red rouge, followed by green, treated corn media.
With nickel plated brass, I can get by with just using the corn...

I have been told you can buy it at feed supply and pet stores.
I bought mine from Midway, I use dryer sheets in my media which really cuts down on the dust (I get no dust) and makes the media last a lot longer as I replace a sheet with each load and it brings a lot of the carbon with it.
Really toughly stained brass can take quite a while to get shiney, depending on how new the media, it can take as much as 8 hours to get really bad brass perfect.
I buy a lot of "once shot" brass. Sometimes I get a load that is really bad. I use the walnut and rouge solution myself, don't really need a second step with corn media.
Used to use some corn media and Cabela's case polish, that worked ok too, but more expensive.sigpicComment

At the moment I use Lyman treated corn cob. The brass ends up very shiny when left to run overnight (I like really clean, shiny brass). Also gets the insides of the case reasonably clean, too.
Haven't tried walnut yet, but will get to it. Heard that it's good especially for very dirty, grimy brass. Will find out!"San Francisco Liberal With A Gun"

I use 1/8" corn cob media w/ Dillon's Rapid Polish. This has worked for me for the last 20 years.

Get the Petco "Zilla" lizard bedding = crushed walnut. This stuff works great.
I used to use the Wal-Mart corn-cob bedding material, but the walnut works a lot better.
