    Ruger Mine 14 load

Which grain bullet does the .223 Ruger Mine 14 like best. I use H335 power on all my small cal. rifles with great results. So I would like to stay with that. I use a 62 grain for my RRA AR 15 and 50 grain with .223 Copper Arms. Just looking to work something up for the old Mini.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Mini's have slower twist barrels, typically 1:10, but some newer ones have 1:9 twist.

Best choice would be 55gr IMO. 1:9 should stabilize up to 69gr properly and 1:10 up to 62gr.

After a crap load of testing, my Dad had the best luck with 62's and H335. The barrel length/whip is what damns these rifles to minute of barn accuracy, but he was getting some decent (sub-MOA) groups with the above. I don't know the charge weight though, or else I'd pass it along. Knowing him, it's somewhere on the upper end of the spectrum.

I found that my mini-14 loves 69gr Sierra #1380 best. I load those with 22.8 - 23 gr of H335, its on the lower end but for some reason it likes it.

put a barrel strut on the skinny barrel Mini, and a trigger job. You will see a huge improvement on your groups.

My stock 2002 Mini really liked 69 gr. Once shot a 1" group, with Accu-Strut, AmeriRanges
Rail Mount, AK 74 Brake, with 69 gr.Federal Gold Match. For all information on the Mini go to www.perfectunion.com in the forum section. Over 150,000 posting about the Mini's.

I bought mine about 4yrs ago and trust it more than I do my AR at times. It has to be one of the most reliable autoloaders they make IMO. Although I can only compare it to AR's.
                  your welcome by the way
