    Buying powder question.

I need a little help, I am getting back into reloading after a 20 year lay off. The shops I use to buy from are long gone and I don't know if it is better to purchase off the internet or from a local shop.

Having done some reading I have decided on two powders and I would like to purchase a pound of each to try out. So my first question would be since I am looking for small amounts to try out would there be any difference in price to purchase locally or off the internet?

Next, if you think a local shop would have the better price for what I want, keeping in mind that I am not looking for bulk yet, what shop would you recommend? I am in So Cal in the Glendale Burbank area.

Same thing for the internet, who currently has the best prices on powder.

    Thanks for our help.

Buying two pounds of powder off the net would be a waste of the $25 Haz Mat fee. Buy it locally and you'll come out ahead there.

I can't help you with the local shops, sorry.

All the reloading supplies you need in stock and special order. Servicing Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange County, High Desert, San Diego.
The bullets with my name on it I'm not worried about, it's the "To whom it may concern" ones I'm worried about.

If you go shooting at Angeles Shooting Range http://www.angelesranges.com/ they have a nice reloading store that offers competitive prices. I always pickup something before I head home after shooting.

This. I only come out ahead online when buying more than 6-8 lbs at a time.

You are pretty close to ASR. I would just get it from The Reloading Store at ASR. Decent selections and fairly decent prices considering they are local.

As mentioned, "mail order" for powder and primers requires a $25 HazMat fee.
For large orders, the fee may be waived.
In your case, shop locally and support your local supplier.
I buy mine at Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabella's, and Bass Pro Shop--or the loack mom-and-pop gun store.
If I am ordering a large enough quantity, I order from PowderValley.
It really is hard to save a lot of money on powder, though, and getting to know your local gun stores and suppliers is a good move. They can even special order a powder for you.
