About a month ago the founder of Jack Ross Ammo, Chris Parker, offered Calgunners the opportunity to sample some of his new ammo. I took Mr. Parker up on his offer and waited for my ammo to arrive.
I was sent a box of 50 9mm 125 gr FMJ to take to the range and give a run.

The ammo looked comparable to any factory ammo you can buy at any store. Enough for looks, how does it shoot?
I shot this ammo out of my Glock 17. The first string of 34 rounds was shot at 21 feet out of two fully loaded standard capacity magazines at a B-5 Target
I had failure to feed on the first two rounds of my first mag, with no other issues of function the rest of the test. It may have been a mag spring not seated correctly because the same mag performed perfectly on the last part of the test.
Accuracy was acceptable for range work. I shot the groups, standing, Two hand Weaver, straight through the magazines with about .5 seconds between shots ending with a double tap. I pulled a couple of rounds on the double taps but the target shows the potential of the ammo.

I then sent the target back to 50 feet and set up 16 rounds for headshots, same procedure as the 21 foot test. I put together some nice two shot groups with the ammo but got sloppy toward the end, pulled some shots and over-corrected.

In summary, I shot 50 rounds of the Jack Ross ammo, had no failure to fire, two fail to feed, which I believe were magazine related since the same rounds were fed into another mag and fired with no issue, and the ammo is as accurate as one can expect from range ammo.
Anyone who was wondering about purchasing this ammo should give it a shot. I do not believe you will be disappointed and the prices seem to be very competitive.
Thanks
Don
Feel free to mock my marksmanship, but the ammo seems to be good stuff.
