There was a recent thread and basically it came down to it being a good source if you need non-magnetic ammo, otherwise the Greek/CMP stuff makes the most sense.

Not reloadable, but non-magnetic sounds good! Will investigate...

That's the claim, anyway, I haven't tried it. The Greek stuff is only weakly magnetic (brass case, lead core, but MOST years there's some steel in the jacket).

And yes, as noted above, not reloadable (unlike the Greek, which is also cheaper).

Actually, I don't see the term "non-magnetic" in the listing at Sportsman's Guide.

If we're talking .30-06, then personally, I wouldn't buy any ammo that isn't easily reloadable. This stuff being Berdan-primed, that makes it a pain. Reloadable .30-06 ammo is something like a buck per round, and you can reuse the cases what, 5 or more times?

Now, if this Berdan-primed ammo were, say, 25 cents/round after shipping costs, like the milsurp 7.62x54R is, then I could see it. But this stuff's 60 cents/round.

Oh, that's interesting! The listing at samco used to say non-magnetic and doesn't anymore. I wonder if it depends on the year, or if it's weakly magnetic like the Greek ammo the CMP sells.

Well, put it this way, unless they're willing to guarantee it's non-magnetic there's no reason to get it.

this might be decent stuff as Iran has a lot of Garands and it is rumored that they has the majority of the IHC Garands left.

I looked at the buyer reviews as well and nobody mentioned it being non-magnetic.

                        Here's the prior thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=439571

If anybody cares about the non-magnetic thing maybe it's worth PM'ing Laika from that thread.
