So I'm up and running on a Dillon XL650 with a hornady bullet feeder, but now that I'm actually loading .45ACP, I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a good powder load for the Rainier ballistics 200 grain Jacketed Round Nose I'm working with.
I'm currently loading at 4.0 grains of Hodgdon Clays (not Universal Clays, regular Clays), and it still feels incredibly light in my Springfield Mil-Spec and produces cycling/feeding problems in my friend's Springfield Operator. I've been working off of the LRN data for Clays, and they list 4.2 as the maximum loading.
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on the matter about how far I can safely push higher than 4.2 (I've seen some people loading FMJ SWCs at 8.8?), and what starting load I should get it running at.
Thanks in advance.
