I like Federal American Eagle in 55 gr. for good clean, decent accuracy.
But for now, anything you can get a hold of.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

Stag is 1x9, so you may not want to shoot MK262(77gr bullet). So M193(55gr) or M855(62gr) are the best 5.56 ammo.

But M855 is steel core tho, a lot of range wont let u use them, and if u shoot steel, it can spark and it is a fire hazard.

Since u can shoot .223 out a 5.56 barrel, most reputable commercial ammo are good too, just stick with 69gr and below with ur gun. For *match grade*, BHA is probably one of the best , Fed Gold Match are good too. For HD, as P14 said, Hornady TAP...FED TRU etc...

Yep, he was just checking to see who was awake enough to catch that...

As for the OP, look into Federal Gold Medal Match with the 69gr Sierra Matchking or Black Hills loading of the same bullet.
That will probably be the most accurate load for your 1:9" twist 16" long barrel.
It will NOT be cheap, but you asked for the best.

I shoot Federal American Eagle 55grain FMJBT, Remington, and a lot of Lake City M855 & 193. Most NATO Stamped, all made by federal. I've shot Privi also.

I wish I could get my hands on some MK 262.

Oh, well. I just scored 1k rounds of M193 the other day though.

I shoot 5.56x45 or .223 Winchester, exclusively. Those will be best.

Best is determined by what you want to do. Accuracy? Match ammo by Federal or Black Hills. Hunting? Depends on the game. Military? M855 is popular.

For shooting for fun, anything that's cheap.

i am a very big fan of black hills. consistent well made ammo.

walmart UMC is good too (dont laugh, it ran well out of my stag and CMMG)

eagle dirties up the barrel more than the others ive tried, IMO
