Non-magnetic .223

Who makes non magnetic .223 ?

Which brand to buy and which to avoid?
Any surplus ammo that I should jump on?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, mail order ammo vendors are notoriously vague on the subject.

Non-magnetic .223 is easy to find. The newer Wolf .223 is magnetic (or so I've heard), so are M855 and SS109 ammo. The rest is pretty much non-magnetic ammo.

Not true about Wolf. The black box I get has all not been magnetic. I heard that rumor, too, but I've never seen any black box that was magnetic.

Always take a magnet to be sure, but avoid things referred to as "bimetal" and most cheap ammo. Generally they're steel cased/core/etc.

Look for the Box that has a a diagonal yellow / black split. I know this is/was the case for 7.62x39. I THINK I have some in .223 as well...but it's late and if I start moving the Ammo cans out of the closet...The Fiancee won't be happy..and I like standing up-right.

Could someone clarify.

The black box for x39 is mixed, probably more often magnetic than not, but I've yet to see any black box .223 Wolf that's magnetic or a verified incident. The military classic is definitely magnetic.

I just got old of a case of S&B and sure enough the magnet sticks to it.
I asked them on the phone before I bought it, and they said non-magnetic.

THIS IS IRRITATING. I want to shoot my RA-96 but I cant find any non-magnetic ammo !!!
