What to do with mangled brass?

Quick question for the reloaders. As I regularly scrounge brass from the range, I occasionally get cases that are mangled beyond any hope of use. What do you all do with these cases? I know a bulk metal recycler won't take 2 handfuls of brass but I feel bad just throwing them away. Can I stick them in wth my household recycling? should I just put it in a bucket and leave it in a corner of my garage?

brass is prety valuable, I'd save it till I had a good sized bucket and then go recycle it for $$$

its extra gun money, and there's never enough gun money

      I have a bucket....

Yes, I have a bucket that sits next to the bench. As I process brass and run across something that isn't mine and I know it's not first fire it goes into the bucket. All my hightime brass from the M1A and Grand both 06 and .308 goes into the white 5gal bucket. When it's full I'll run down to the recycler and get some more gun money

And I won't be laid a hand on.

I can't really bother to go and recycle it for cash, so I take it to the range and dump it there. I usually ask before dumping a bunch, but since I assume they recycle it for cash, they always say yes

With scrap prices going higher and higher, it can pay to take it to a recycler. Some places want the primers out, some don't.

If you pick up brass at the range don't forget to sweep up those 22LR's too. They add to the scrap for $$$ too.

If you have access to a lot of 22 lr brass, you might want to save it for the someday in which you need to make yourself some .223 plinking bullets. Corbin sells a punch set for doing just that. Apparently you can convert those 22 lr cases into light bullet jackets for .223 and .243's. Somthing to think about

I make cute "stop world violence" sculptures... just kidding

I started a bucket with lid (empty kitty litter bucket) for mangled brass and it lives under the stairs - mangled brass, berdan primed, odd calibers - retirement fund... The way prices are going

What sargenv said peaks my curiosity, but I'm ages away from messing with molten lead...

Last time I sold a couple buckets of scrap brass casings, I got $1.71/lb for CLEAN casings, nothing but brass.
Each 5 gal buckets weight 60-65 pounds.
You have to pick up a lot of brass to have it add up apreciably.
