    n00b question on surplus brass

So I have some IMG surplus brass, and I was curious. . . is it presized, or do I need to run it through my dies... I feel dumb asking, but it's save me a lot of wasted time if it's already sized. . . Thanks guys..

If it's once-fired, then you should probably consider it to be in need of resizing.

Check is with a case gauge. My 308s aren't in need of resizing after one firing. From what I've heard you can reload a couple of times between sizings. It's better to not size if you don't have to, as it stresses the brass.

        brass

If it was NOT fired from YOUR gun, or if it was fired from your SEMI-AUTO rifle, then you NEED to full lenght size it. If it was fired from YOUR bolt gun, then you can only NECK SIZE it. And check your brass lenght as well. Shoot straight and be safe.

are these the IMG "surplus" new brass from Widener's?
they're suppose to be new and ready to load. I'd say take a sample batch and see from there.

I've used this for my Nosler 77 and 68 gr. BTHP and works fine for me.

If that's the brass http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=6846 You good to go. But when you reload it after firing it, use very strong de-caping die. The de-caping pin from my Lee die got stack in flash hole. It looks like flash holes are under sized or such...

yeah, its' those ones.. and I've noticed the small flash hole while reloading my once-fired brass from IMG.... So I guess, then, that the new, unfired IMG are already sized.. good to know.. save me some time.. Thanks so much!!
