    Help ID this brass.

    Hey Calgunners,

I was at the range and fellow M1A shooter offered me his brass since I told him that I was just starting up and he didn't reload. He said he didn't know whether his brass was reloadable but I gladly accepted his brass anyway. If you can't see in the pictures, the rim says "MF 83 F4" He said it was Australian surplus if that helps. Thanks for all the help guys. Fingers crossed for boxer!

MF 84 means manufactured in 1984. F4 is just the Australian factory designator.

Look into the case with a flahlight. If it has one flash hole, It is reloadable. If it has 2, It is hard to deprime and some consider that unreloadable. Even though it is. All brass is reloadable, It just takes different tools, different primers, and more work

Shine a light down the hole and see if there are one or two holes.
One in the center is boxer.
          Two offset holes is berdan.

There are two offset holes. I'm sad.

Thanks for the help everybody, but should I save the brass or what? I was always told that berdan primers are not available here.

either reload it or sell it as scrap to the scrapyard
