    Federal 80 grain 223..AR?

A few years back I was ordering a bunch of ammo and picked up some various stuff to try out. Out of that batch I still have some "Federal Premium 80 grain 'Match King' Hollow Point Boat Tail" ammo (XM223M1). What do most people shoot this out of? A bolt gun? Single shot in the AR? They are too long to load more than one in an AR mag.

And no...I did not buy a ton of something I cant use..just one box of 20

Thanks for the reply. I am going out to Angeles tomorrow, perhaps I'll see if someone there can use it. If I keep it around here I'll probably end up building a suitable rifle to get rid of it with...

I would say 1:8 twist or faster. 1:8 is even on the slow side for that high of a grain. Mainly used for 600+ yrd shooting.

          I'll take it...
Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

Now that is a real gun owner

Has a box of 20rds and doesnt have a capable rifle so he decides its time for a new rifle

Two years ago..yes..new rifle build. But my wife has been out of work for a year and our son is about to go to college so I would probably get killed for building a new firearm right now. These days I am lucky to be able to afford plinking ammo.
