Loading .223 with the Lee Pro Auto Disk

Hi guys, i'm rounding out my purchases to start reloading my own .223 rounds and i had a quick question regarding the Lee Pro Auto Disk kit.

i bought a Lee Turret Press and i'm planning on using the Lee Pro Auto Disk and was wondering if i get the adjustable charge bar if i need to use the Double Disk kit? Or does the adjustable charge bar provide enough additional powder to drop and fill the .223 (23-26 grains)

    Thanks guys/gals!

      Oops.

Well, in anticipation of the mods moving this for you...

You'll need the double disk kit to get the volume of powder required for loading .223.

The adjustable charge bar is not required, but makes it easier to get just the charge you want.

          You're welcome!

BTW, I've really enjoyed my press. It's the classic turret and I load .223, .45 ACP, and 38/357. It took a bit to get the priming system figured out at first, but it's been problem free through about 5000 total rounds so far.

With the double disk you have to make sure you put the larger disk in the bottom position, other than that it's easy money.

sweet... yeah, i picked up the Lee 3-hole Turret w/o auto index. As for the priming, i'm planning on hand priming using a RCBS Universal Priming tool. i think i've got the rest of my list planned out now that i know that i have to get the double disk kit.

            Thanks for your help!

To answer your question it matters on the powder. With the adjustable bar maxed out I can get 25gr of TAC. I load with 24.5 so it works fine for me. Depending on the powder though it may not work for you. But hey, you should be using TAC anyway

i actually purchased 2 lbs of TAC a couple of weeks ago from Phillip's along with some 69 SMK and some other nick nacks. i just gotta put my order in through MIDWAY (only place that has everything i need in stock) and i'll be somewhat complete.
