Didn't mean to jinx ya. Online seems to be about the cheapest way to buy ammo but I would be real reluctant because I have recieved the wrong stuff in the mail before (no gun stuff yet though).

Also I hate mail ordering anything with a passion anyway. Mostly it's because of UPS drivers that leave packages where they feel like dropping them and don't bother to knock on my door. WTF happened to UPS in recent years? They never use to do that sheet like that to me.

Nothing like getting a call from my landloard, telling me from a neighbor who called her, that UPS left $1,600 worth of new truck parts sitting on top of my garbage cans, which are at my backyard and not the front!

That was about 6 months ago and haven't ordered anything online since. We'll actually I just did but I now have my parents order crap for me and have it shipped to their house. They never go anywhere anyway:-P They live in a newish very nice upscale neighborhood and they have problems with them dropping sheet off at the garage door. Can't they walk the extra 12 f%$ing feet?

Ok I'm tired and getting pi$$Y. Need sleep LOL

I just had a 'live online chat' with Cabelas about getting the wrong ammo scenario and this is what she said.......

Elaine S: Hi, my name is Elaine S. How may I help you?
Chad: Hi.. Was curious. If I was to order ammo on your site and was sent the wrong ammo and it was your fault, what happens?
Elaine S: One scenario would be for that Customer service may tell you to take it to your law enforcement department for disposal and ask you to produce a receipt. The correct ammo would then be sent to you.
Elaine S: Did this happen to you?
Chad: No it didn't. There are good prices online but I'm affraid that could happen. That's why I ask.
Elaine S: If ordered correctly, it would be rare to have an error, but we would take care of it properly and to make it fair to the customer.
      Elaine S:
Is there anything else I can help you with?

Chad: No I think that was about it. Thanks.
      Elaine S:
Thank you for using Cabela's Live Help. We look forward to serving you in the future.

            Yes!

Apparently my local PD is taking care of Cabelas ammo returns WTF LOL. I wonder if the bomb unit will charge me for disposing of any wrong ammo or if they would use it at their range (doubtfull on that last one).

Makes me feel so much better about buying online I think I would just do a Cabelas ammo run once a year. I like their Nevada store and go there at least once a year anyway, just ship it to their store and pick it up, which is free shipping if I do.

I guess you can get good ammo prices at the gun shows but I forgot to look last time I went a couple weeks ago.

I would not recommend AIM and they are so slow and mislead me on shipping.

I bet you that the local PD will not take it. They'll refer you to a hazmat disposal site.

Probablly the easiet way if you got the wrong ammo would be sell it for a few bucks less than you paid for it here on Calguns and help somebody else out while getting rid of your wrong ammo.

I was checking many of these websites myself, and I read a notice near the products description saying if the buyer lives in the following states (CA included) to check local laws about buying ammo online. This notice kind of got me worried and hesitant about buying online. Are there certain restrictions like 50 rounds a month type of thing? or am I just paranoid?
