    Dillon Crap !!!!!!!

Has anyone else found the 1" Dillon Bench Wrench to be total crap?
I mean its like they made that thing from pot metal... Everything else seems like quality, why did they cheap out on this.

Does anyone have a good alternative?

I had to Google it. Looks like it's shaped to fit in tight quarters.

Sears sells Craftsman 6 point box wrenches, so does Snapon. Pretty sure they're going to be bulkier & might not fit where they need to.

Ya know... it's only got to tighten locknuts on a die. It's not like yer gonna be torqueing your F350 lugnuts.

I wish Lee offered something like that for their turrets. Using a 1 1/8 Craftsman open end is kinda a PITA.

If you can get a 1" thin profile open end you could probly grind it yourself but why bother?

Never used one. Tell them to send you a new one if it broke.

It is crap and a regular 1" wrench won't fit in there. I would pay twice as much for a wrench that didn't round off the locking nuts.

I haven't had a problem with mine, but I use lots of toolheads with Redding competition seating dies. Once dies are set they stay that way except for adj OAL. Maybe get some CNC'd in stainless?

I would pay twice as much for one that worked too...Its probably why the sell them in a 2 pack. I even tried welding my two together, it didnt really help. As for sending them back to Dillon, is it worth the return shipping just to get another POS?

I've never had a problem with mine. What are you guys complaining about exactly. Are the breaking? If so Dillon will send you a new one for free. Or are they ruining your die nuts? I've only used them with Dillon dies, but they seem to work fine.

It seems as if the wrench doesn't have a tight enough tolerance to hold onto things tight enough to turn. The leverage isn't there for me either. I use regular tools now. All the other Dillon stuff I've used is good stuff. I bought mine used here with other reloading stuff so its not like I'm out a lot of money. I would simply recommend using regular tools for adjustments and etc and save skinned knuckles/hands.

I don't like stuff made out of pot metal either. Thank goodness for Sears.

The tolerances of the opening is too wide so when you tightening the nut it rounds the corners. Dillon designs things to they fail so people don't do something wrong, IMO. For example the wrench thing so you don't over tighten. The auto indexing ring could be made of metal but it's meant to break in case a primer is not fully seated.

But I really have to torque down the nut on the trimming die because it always works loose. Sears here I come.
