Awesome Experience with Berry's Bullets Customer Service

I've been buying plated bullets from Berry's for a while now, and I recently needed to replenish my 9mm bullets. I placed an order for some 115gr RN bullets, and when they came, I noticed that the bullets were of varying length, as much as .10" off, and the ogive on all the bullets were not uniform.

I wrote them an email and took some pictures with my calipers, and they quickly responded. They decided to refund me for a single box of 250 bullets while allowing me to keep all of the bullets I already had, and additionally sent me some free stuff (hat & t-shirt). I don't think the variations in the length of the bullet and ogive will create any problems, so I'm loading them up anyways.

I then placed another order for some .357 125gr flat point hard cast bullets, and when I received the bullets, they were marked with exactly that on the label, but the bullets inside were flat point round nose. I took some pictures and emailed them again, and they got to me within 12 hours. The person I spoke to (Angie, who I had spoken to over the phone for the prior issue), actually made it personal each time and gave me a call instead of just exchanging emails (very professional, IMO). In my email to them, I told them that I didn't expect anything out of notifying them that I had received a wrong product, just that I wanted to give them a heads up so that other customers did not receive the wrong bullets as well. Regardless of this statement, she notified me that the right bullets would be sent out to me today, free of charge, and I was able to keep the "wrong" bullets I already had been sent.

I'll definitely continue to buy Berry's bullets and recommend them to all my fellow reloaders. They make great bullets, and I've never had a problem with variances in bullet size before, so I figured this was just a piece of machinery falling out of spec one time, which she assured me they double checked and had readjusted. She also made it a point to speak to the shipping dept, and have them open each box to ensure that the bullets in the cases were the one's printed on the label.

They are expensive, but worth every penny IMO. They make a quality product and stand behind it. I shoot Berry's exclusively in 9mm and really like them.

They are expensive compared to what? I've found Berry's bullets to be the cheapest out of all the bullet brands. If you buy directly from them they offer free shipping on orders over $50. I buy my bullets from them in the 1000's and compared to jacketed prices, and other plated bullets, Berry's is by far the cheapest.

Apart from hard cast and those moly coated ones, where else are you guys finding plated bullets for cheaper than at Berry's, shipping included?

Berry's are very expensive especially when you consider that they are only plated. PD, for example charges $76 for 1k 115gr bullets. Berry's charges $85 for 1k rounds. And PD are jacketed not plated.

Shipping is free from both sites. I can list a few other sites that are better deals if you need them.

Actually yeah I'm really curious. I always thought Berry's was the cheapest. Can you shoot me a PM with some links to the others, please?

I'm surprised I didn't hear about/find these guys before. I've always just used Berry's because I had assumed plated would always be cheaper than jacketed, and because Zero bullets seem to always be sold out. I suppose the advantage of Berry's is that you can place orders of just barely over $50, and they will ship it to you for free. It looks like with PD you have to place an order of over 2000 bullets, or else you're charged a $5 fee, which still isn't so bad, but I usually don't need more than 1000 bullets at a time.

I'm at work, but I'll post some more tonight.
                Here is the PD link:
The go-to choice for shooters, Precision Delta is a leading manufacturer of ammunition and reloading components. All of our products are proudly manufactured in Mississippi

One of the reasons I'm complaining about the price of Berry's is because plated use to be way cheaper than jacketed. Way cheaper. Nowadays they are almost the same price.

Most reloaders I know shoot PD. Great product. MG is also a good product. Last time I checked they were charging around $100 per1k which I would still consider cheaper than Berry's since MG are jacketed.

Montana Gold FMJ for 115gr RN are about $10/1000 cheaper (shipping included), than Berry's plated. Same for Precision Delta.

I prefer Montana Gold and PD over Berry's. One thing (other than the great customer service obviously) that might favor the Berry's, for those that keep track of such things, Berry's are softer than either MG or PD, so they are probabaly a little easier on your bore than its jacketed competition.

I'm confused. I'm looking at the MG website right now, and it looks like they're charging $105/1000 of 115gr FMJ, whereas Berry's charges $84.58/1000 of 115gr plated. Unless you guys are talking about all the bulk prices if you purchase the bullets in quantities of 4000+ (which I don't do), Berry's still seems cheaper than MG.

PD seems to be cheaper overall, but MG seems to only be cheaper if you're buying a whole lot at a time. I can't afford to make $300 bullet purchases each time, and I don't shoot enough to justify that many bullets, so I guess it would really only be cheaper for those who do reload/shoot that much.

Anyways, thanks for the websites though. I didn't know about these before and bookmarked them in case I ever do need to buy that many.

You can push jacketed to higher velocities without having to worry about melting the bullet.
