    Green tips tumble and frag?

Do green tip 556 rounds tumble and frag in a similar manner as regular 556?

By regular 5.56 I would have to assume you mean M193 or 55gr FMJ's. I think the answer is yes, the green tips or M855 are 62gr and a bit longer than the 55's which should make them more likely to tumble. Not sure what to say about framentation though, I guess it depends on the type of material and the distance from the weapon

Anyone interested in Terminal Ballistic Performance should go here and read the stickies. The Doc knows what he's talking about:

If the velocity is high enough, but I've read in a couple different places that even then they're don't reliably frag because of how they're made and have slight manufacturing differences.

im still curious what would happen if one were to pick up the ar15 first in a HD situation... if the bullet would pass through the bad guy... or tumble... testing shows numbers... but then again real life stories would help much more IMO

some combination of both in all likely hood. There's been talk of m855 completely passing through people and leaving pretty much minuscule wounds on people in A-stan. Though, there are SOME instances of m193 doing the same thing. In reality, M193 is one of the better rounds for HD distances. The 77/75grs are good too. If all you have handy is m855, then I'd use that.
