    getting back into reloading

The exwife got half of the guns and lawyer got all the money from the reloaders, so I have been away from reloading for a long while. After borrowing a friend press to reload some 243 varment grenades, i invested the afternoon on ebay and spent about 400 including shipping to rebuild the reloading bench.

I looked at the rock crushers and the hornidy lnl single stage kits both of which retail for about 400.00 in fresno plus the taxes so call it 435 and on the couple of extras you will need and you are at 550. So that was my price point. Most of lees stuff is junk so they were not even in the running. i still have a couple of bigger mags so I wanted a big press. I don't trust a digital scale with my face so the hornady lnl kit lost. The rock crusher kit started to look better.

But I ended up parting it out for less.

2 ea uniflow 2 powder measures with stand, one small one large
    505 scale
    lube pad
    funnel
    deburr tool
trimmer with pilots and shell holders
    rcbs hand primer
    357/38 dies
    redding big single stage press

most new or almost new condition total with shipping is 384.00$

what i need now is a good cheap plinking load for the 357/38 that won't lead up.

    thanks

Try Trail Boss for 38spl. Great powder. Your bullet size is the most deciding factor for leading. After size is hardness and then lube. Powder is last IMO.

Also did you already buy everything. Midway is having a good deal on the RCBS kit right now. $250 I think.

Welcome to Calguns and back to handloading.

Don't turn your back on digital scales....there are some very good ones made.

        Congrats, XDRoX

I think you made my signature quote with:

size is the most deciding factor... After size is hardness.
