    nice reloading light

    Hi there.

Spent the afternoon building my reloading bench. Nothing special, but I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. I haven't really dont a lot of wood working before....

I found an awesome little light at IKEA that works great for the press. It's a LED light that generates virtually zero heat and it only cost $9.99

    Link to light: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10128734

The light fits right in between the dies and lights up the entire shell plate!

I ended up ditching the lamp base and mounting directly on my bench to save a little space and for a cleaner look

Now I can see how much powder is in each case:

Anyways thought I'd pass the tip along about the light. I got mine from the East Palo Alto IKEA, but I'm pretty sure they all should have it.

time to go make more ammo!

    Well done on the setup

Where did you purchase the Hornady poster in the background?

Nice solid looking bench, the light looks like it was built there from the factory, the same shade of metal.

      Ya done good kid!

      Happy reloading!

... That light is so perfect for that purpose. I'm jealous.

hornady poster is probably a foldout from one of their freebie catalogues. you can probably call and get one for free. Smart companies love doing stuff like that, since a single purchase offsets the cost, and is likely to result in multiple purchases, because they made you happy.

Hmm.. looks like the head can be separated from the neck, and the wire can just be run down along the press, and be less obtrusive, while you still have the switch on the head portion. (based on pics... i don't have one).

Also, looking at Ikea website, it comes in black, or silver color. I'd probably just get black or paint it to blend in with the press...

I bought one yesterday on sale for $9.99. I hate IKEA, they make you run that rats maze just so they can expose you to everything in the store. I wonder how much they paid the team of psychologist that came up with that method of extracting as much money from your wallet as they possibly can.
Anyway, the switch is on the cord. What I like about the flexible neck is you can park it above any open station, not just the center hole, and if you need some extra light to look at something up close, you just grab the neck and swing it to where you want.
                        Thanks for the tip OP.

I would be hesitant to mount the light directly to the press. Better to use the method shown in the pictures which isolates the light with the wood bench. An electrical short in the future could energize the press. You would end up with both an electrical hazard and potential ignition source.

The light is a great addition. I have been looking for something appropriate to illuminate my LnL with.

Good find ... I do believe I am going to Ikea.

                            Thanks for posting this.
