WST: could use some data for .45

After a couple posts suggested that I should put the Bullseye away for awhile till I get some more experience. I went out today and picked up some WST. [ 45acp.230 plated Berrys/ CCI primers/ Glock 30]

As I said before I have a Lee and Lyman Manual but would like to know what others are doing? Start and what you ended up with.

I tried WST once. I did not like the residue it left in my cylinder which was similar to fine sand. So I went back to Bullseye and 231.

I like WST for 45 ACP, both lead and FMJ. Doesn't meter as smoothly as 231, but you are used to flake powder vs ball or spherical. WST burns very clean at mid range loads. Plated loads are somewhere between lead data and "starting" loads for FMJ. Check Berry's site for info. I think you will be happy with the results.

I think Berry's actually recommends loads in the low to mid-range of jacketed equivalents. I have never actually seen anything on Berry's site referring to using lead data, but then, I may have just missed it.

FWIW, a lot of the loads in my Lee book have plated loads higher even than their equivalent weight jacketed bullets. Usually it is when Accurate (5,7,9) or VV is posted with plated data.

people here post good stuff but do not blindly take anyones load data untill you are more experienced at reloading LOOK it up ALL powder and most big bullet mfgs have a web site. This will keep you safe

go to the site above a cruise to the pistol area and they will have a starting load and a MAX load
