    Shotgun ammo warpery?

    Hi all. I was having a hard time searching this in the archives / external web so I'll just get on with it;

    My buddy loaded my 12ga pump shotgun with some 00 buck, and decided to fire something lighter so he ejected the tube by pump, and I noticed these large grain BBs left rather large warps on their casing over the BB. I assume it's from the shell being pressfit through and tightening the plastic around them, I've never seen this with birdshot. It's minimal (less than 0.2mm raised) but I'm curious of two things. 1. Is the shot unsafe to fire at this point? and 2. Is it a common occurrence due to the non-metallic sleeve?

    They seem minimally changed, but they are a little bit, and I'm curious how large it'll impact their reliability as they are chiefly home defense rounds. If this doesn't sound like something most folks have encountered, I'm not opposed to taking a picture if it'll help. I'm pretty new to shotguns, so I appreciate everyone's insight. Thank you.

      The brass part of the shell is what seals the barrel. If that's fine, then you have nothing to worry about.
      Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".
