Any tips for running Gold Dots

    Hey all,

I have two pistols a glock 20 and a Kimber Custom II. I have run about 1000 rounds out of the Kimber fmj and about 200 through the Glock. I have not run the Speers thru the Kimber at the range yet but hand cycle several clips of it thru the pistol. The 1st round didn't feed out of the clip I was like /sigh after that no issues hand cycling.

My question is... is there anything I can do to help my weapon load the HP rounds easier?

are they handloads or factory? And is the feed ramp humped or look the same as the glock?

Many smiths that specialize in 1911 work offer what some call a "reliability package" things like a polished feed ramp, etc. are done to the gun so it is less sensitive to what you shoot, hence more reliable. That would be a good place to start.

eh probably did that with the 1000 rounds of fmj hehe. Yes the loads are factory gold dot 230s. As for the feed ramp /shrug it's not part of the barrel so thats a little differant but otherwise pretty much same same.
