I'm looking for some help. I know this info has to be out there somewhere. I've searched the net but came up empty. I'm looking for the length of different bullets. Not the OAL of the cartridge, but the actual bullet. I'm hoping someone can get some measurements for the length of Hornady XTP's and Speer Gold Dots in 180gr.

What specific measurements are you looking for on the projectiles? I have a few hundred 155 XTP's handy.
See attached images for measurements -
Hornady lists the following bullets in 180 grains:
#40040 HP-XTP
#40042B HAP
#40047 FMJ-FP (discontinued)
You asked for XTP:
#40040 - HP-XTP: B.C.: 0.164, Sectional Density: 0.161, Diameter: 0.400"
C.O.L. = 1.125" - but I do not see a dimension of the actual bullet length. It would be interesting if Hornady would release drawings of their bullets.
#10808 SWC is discontinued as well - lead cast bullet.
Here is a suggestion from another forum:
Call Hornady's 800 number (1-800-338-3220) and hold to talk to a tech. They'll tell you.sigpic
