dillon powder measure problem?

My 650 did that with .308 as the powder die sits so much lower than other cartridges for some reason. Ultimately, I just gently ground down the part that was catching(the lever) and it's been fine ever since. You don't have to take much off to get it to clear.
I'm not sure that's the best way to fix the problem, but it worked for me. -
I tripped out on that too..but..
That's the way it is supposed to work. It is part of the fail safe system. You can retrograde your machine to work like an older one. I have a newer 550B. My friend has an old one that doesn't have that tab. Older versions have two springs around the base of the funnel though.
There is nothing wrong with the press, but if it seems clunky or bothers you check out these links...

Its made that way so you do not throw a double charge. DO NOT FIX IT!
AND
Spend the money for a powder check alarm (the one that checks for no/over/under powder in the brass case. Is your face, hands and possibly your life worth 40 dollars?

Its weird that it only rubs on the way up. You would think that it would bind on the way down. Mine does not catch like that. I would disassemble like you were switching out powder bars and then reassemble and see if it goes away. Give Dillon a call and ask. Maybe they will say the piece is bent.Comment

Totally normal. With time, use, and a little dirt they all start to do this. I have 3 powder measures on 3 different heads. My 223 and 9mm both do this. My 38spl one does not because it doesn't have as many rounds through it yet.Chris

I'm going to quote myself to clarity what I was saying.
I rewatched your video and I believe what the others are saying is correct, it is acting properly. In my case, that tab was jamming solid against the aluminum housing on the down stroke(.308 only), which is why I relieved a small amount of metal. Now it works like all the other calibers I load.
And yeah, pick up a powder check system, it's totally worth the money and you only need one that can move from caliber to caliber. You just need to buy a powder die and check rod for the other calibers.

When I had my SDB refurb'ed, the new update that Dillon did had that very same problem. (I had the old style before, which didn't do it.)
I called them and their statement was that it is made that way to give more positive powder throws as it 'shakes' the head/powder bar.Comment
