LGB... I was thinking the same thing as you. I have been working through a process of elimination to narrow down the area of concern to determine the cause. I think I'm getting pretty close.

The 650 is on a strong mount bolted to a rock solid counter top that is built onto the workshop wall. There is zero movement. I can probably hang off the XL650 and not worry about movement.

The malfunction will occur even at the slowest speed. I can actualy see the non-aligned case move up and catch the mouth edge on the die body. The issue is alignment. I already ruled out a poorly adjusted case slider, debris or a burr in the shellplate causing the case to not align properly. I always work the handle to maximum travel in both directions. Dillon says the shell plate is not aligned and it could be the index ring, they think the alignment tool is the next step.

Great feedback from everyone. Thanks again for your replies.

Tool arrived and I re-aligned the shell plate. I didn't visually see an alignment issue, but after the alignment process was completed the problem was gone.

Thumbs up to Dillon customer service who shipped the tool to my door within 48 hrs.
