Hi Chief, my statement was never meant to be offensive. I was simply stating that lately there has been a lot of novice questions being asked and that was how I took Bob's question.

It's not my intention to try and veer new reloaders away. Heck I try to do my best to "give back" and teach and help when I can. Heck I know I had all the same questions when I was initially learning.

Boot, No offense taken!! I have been seeing the same thing and have attempted to field their questions. Since there are no stupid question in reloading, however a few of them have been way out there and the thought comes in to my brain is "You want to do what with things that were designed and love to go BOOM."

I believe the best advise or mentoring that we can give the new reloader is:
Buy and read the fricking book (RTFB).

Yep, that is indeed a nice reloading room. I don't have a Glock yet, but that may change in the future (have shot a few). Probably will be in .45 ACP since I've got the brass and the mould.

Have you guys tried Longshot? I use it in my 40S&W loads with good results. The max loads are rated close to some 10mm loads for fps.

Blue-Dot behind a 180 can be pushed a little harder.

A friend with a G20 was trying to push the limits .1grn at a time.

We found that it actually has a couple of sweet spots. 1 in the mid 11grn range (11.3 i think, but i may be wrong). And another at like 12.2. Try bouncing around those marks to see if you hit a sweet spot like we did. It was wierd watching groups close as we approached the number, open up again, then close again as we approached the hotter sweet spot. Did not expect multiples.

And yes, once you're going over 11.5 grns it's definitely a skull rattler. G20 handled it like a champ though.

I run my 180 grainers over 9.2gr Longshot/CCI350/1.250 OAL, although I have safely worked up to 9.5gr. I get about 1300fps out of a 6" barrel with that load. Hodgdon's listed 180gr max is 9.5gr, so you'll be safe there too if you work up slow. I know a guy that worked up to 10.0gr (over max) with a 180gr bullet, an had no excess pressure signs. Longshot works at lower pressures than most other powders in 10mm, and will meter MUCH better than 800X in your Dillon(s). I'm sure you know, but it's not advisable to load at the ragged edge of maximum in a high pressure cartridge like 10mm, with a progressive press. When I'm loading 10mm at MAX or over MAX, I use my single stage press & weigh every single charge on a 5-0-5.

Wow..Bob's garage makes my little Lee Pro 1000 in my garage look weenie. It does a pretty good job with my 10mm reloading though.

My favorite load is a 180g. Montana Gold HP which is very similar to your Winchester Silvertip.

Glock 20SF with a standard length KKM barrel
                        Mixed Brass
                        9,5g. of Longshot
                        Wolf Primer
                        Montana Gold 180g. HP
                        1.25oal
                        1300fps

The load is much more accurate than this group shows. This was freehand at 15 yards which is not the most ideal position for an accuracy test.
