    High flash pistol powder?

Does any manufacturer make a powder that has a lot of flash when fired? I know my request is a little counter-intuitive for good reloading, but are there any particular brands or models of smokeless powder that you guys know of creates more muzzle flash than others? I'd like to load up a few high flash rounds just for a more dramatic effect to go with the loud boom.

    Edit: For .45ACP and 9mm.

Posting what caliber you're going to load for would be helpful.

Yes. What caliber are you talking about? From my experience, I found these powders to flash pretty good with the calibers I load. AA #9 for .357 and .44 Mag. Alliant Power Pistol flashes good to when used with 9mm, .40 S&W and 10mm.

Power Pistol in 357 Mag, 44 Mag and 45ACP has noticeably more than the usual amount of flash.

Power Pistol is notorious for that.

Sorry forgot to specify, it's for 9mm and .45ACP.

Why? For fun. Loud boom accompanied by a bright and hot flash just sounds really fun. I already have plenty of perfectly reloaded rounds for typical range use, I just wanted something over the top to get past the monotony of the indoor range.

Blue Dot makes a HUGE fire ball in 10mm & 9x25 Dillon. Tons of fun at the indoor range...

F4T, got your PM. I might actually try out some of the Bluedot just for kicks. Can you PM me how much for 1lb? I responded too fast to your PM, thinking it was for my WTB ad specifically looking for W231 or something similar.

+1 on Blue Dot though I have not used it for years.

Yep Blue Dot. I stopped using it for my 125 gr. 357 mag load several years ago. Shooters next to me in the indoor range would give a "WTF!" look everytime I pulled the trigger.
