Lid for Dillon 650 case feeder

Has anyone come up with a lid or top for the XL650's case feeder?

I put 2 micro fiber towels up top to keep the noise down as I reload in my room and I want to keep the noise down a little.

I have the Dillon press cover that encompasses the whole press and case feeder. Keeps dust/dirt out of the press and case feeder.

Yes that is exactly my problem too. I just moved all my reloading equipment into our extra empty bedroom but I reload at night and I can here it in my bedroom. Don't want to wake the wife.

You are going to have to put some kind of towel/s on top and shut the door. That is the only downfall to reloading and some people are extra sensitive about sounds too especially at night.

Yep thanks! Going to try a couple folded beach towels. Until I can fabricate a sound deadening lid.

Towel works to the the spiders out, not sure about noise reduction.

Maybe some thick closed cell foam padding on top and around the hopper will deaden the noise?

What you need is a BIG cardboard box (as tall as the Dillon with Case feeder + 4") and a bunch of this stuff:



Line the sides and top of the cardboard box (on the inside) and viola!! instant sound deadening box.

I made one of these for my tumbler back in the day so I could run it in the kitchen and not have it bother anyone including myself.

Works great.

Now that's a good idea. I have the foam. I am going to cut down and use foam liner on a modified bucket. It will completely encompass the top. I will take some pics when I finish.
