Deburr 223/5.56 necessary?

Is deburring the neck worth it on .223/5.56 reloads?

After trimming the case to length...it's certainly recommended. Especially if you're loading for accuracy.

If the case doesn't need trimming (yet), then there's no need to debur. I only debur after trimming.

You should trim after sizing. My USPSA shooting partner didn't and his AR jammed and/or blew out cases and the magazine. Kinda cool to watch (no one got hurt). He now trims after full length sizing.

Sure, fitting in the chamber without scratching its way in. Not wearing on the seating die. More even neck tension. Or just because you should not skip a step on something as important co Vermont your safety .

i would love to, but it's out of my price range at the moment. i trim every time i resize. i noticed that factory rounds don't appear to be deburred.

Why would factory rounds be burred? Don't they start with new brass?

They have to make the brass first.

New factory brass might not have a burred edge, but might be sharp. When you use your de-burring tool it'll take the edge away and not cut up your bullet as you seat it, which will create the best seal. You only need a light twist or two, don't try to bevel it.

Definately true. You can feel the difference with single stage press when seating bullet in chambered case, especially the with the longer heavier bullets like the SMK 77g.

possum hollow trimmer... not really and they are only $30

Possum hollow is better. If you want it mounted to the table, then put your drill in a vise.
