    SRP instead of SP

I was on google and I found out that some reloaders are using small rifle primmers instead of SP primmers.
Is that safe, or anyone trying that conbination is just asking for trouble.

It's safe if you work a load for it. I wouldn't recommend a max load worked up with a SPP, then change to SRP and expect it to be safe. All my 9mm, .40, 223 is loaded with SRP. Although now the 223 is being loaded with a CCI41, and so all my CCI400 SRP are being used solely in pistol.

The only real advantage is to lower the number of different components you have. Don't have to stock both pistol and rifle primers.

Disadvantages? Some rifle primers may be hotter, this would be BAD in a max load if you didn't work up the load. Rifle primers are harder. Some guns with lightened hammer/striker springs may not set them off.

Years back IPSC shooters were hotrodding the 38 super and using SRP. I tried some out with mid-range 38 spl loads when primers were nowhere to be found. No difference noted when chronographed, so I loaded more.

I use SRP's in my 40 for one reason. It's easier to buy a ton of SRP's that I can use in my 40 and 556 instead of a bunch of SPP and SRP. Works fine no issues. As others posted though work your load up correctly check for pressure signs and use a chrono. I have not experienced this but I have heard that SRPs can add in a few fps because they are slightly hotter. So again just work up the load and you'll be fine.
