Used reloading press values?

My wife has given me permission to upgrade my press so I was thinking to selling my current setup.

I have a Rock Chucker Supreme with a Piggy Back 4 conversion, I know I paid way too much for it as I live 5 miles away from RCBS and bought it from their retail store. I was planning on getting their newer auto indexing progressive.

I would only pull the press out, and stick my “old” press in the box. I would not touch the “new” powder measurer or any other stuff as I would keep what I already have. Heck I would throw in a beam scale if they wanted.

The only functional difference between two is my current setup does not and cannot support auto indexing and I was thinking that may help when I want to bulk reload.

Where do I find a valuation tool or website that would help me price the press. I hoping for around $400.

i have a pro2000 manual indexing that loads all i want in a short period of time.

myself , i wouldn't fix what's not broken but that is just how i work.

curious as to what you expect to gain with the auto index that is worth the time and expense over what you have now?

Terryger, sounds like you already know me and my shooting....

My time for reloading and shooting is very limited due due to my kid(s) (one very active and attention needing 3year old and one more in 2 months), and I like to shoot a lot (meaning volume) to make up for how often I can not get out. I was figuring that auto indexing would save me/increase my output 20% as now I have to advance reach cartage and flip it out into the loaded bin.

There is nothing wrong with my setup now and it had functioned wonderfully for the last 5-ish years. I was just hoping to get a few more rounds loaded in my loading time.

I was hoping to find out a value so that I could justify the new press, meaning the auto indexing is worth $200-ish to me.

You can want the new press, but you can never "justify" it.

1. How much more supplies can you buy compared to the price of a new progressive.
2. How many more bullets can you load with 20% more time.

Who cares, I got a hall pass to buy a new press. Woo hoo!

Make sure you also add on a bullet feeder. You can justify it by saying "but I'll reload faster so I can spend more time with the family"

I like your logic.
I think I'm seeing the light of reason over the joy of getting a new toy. Darn, being an adult stinks sometimes. Having more primers, powder and bullets "in stock" is a very comforting thing.

In all seriousness even though in 35,000 reloads (+/- 5,000) I have never needed it, I always use a lockout die on my progressive because I can not see back there to visually verify, so I can not use a bullet feeder since all my stations are full.
