    Powder measure cleanup

    Hello all,

Loaded my very first batch of 45 ACP ammo this morning, very exciting stuff. I don't know how many times I double, and triple checked my loaded ammo, hopefully nothing will go wrong when I shoot it.

Anyway, question about the powder measure... I am using Hornady Lock-n-load powder measure and was using Hodgdon Titegroup Flake powder today. After loading I cleaned up everything else and dumped the powder in the baffle back into the powder can. I noticed there was still some powder left in the baffle due to static electricity and was wondering how to clean that out? I plan to load again either tonight or tomorrow morning with a different type of powder and don't want to mix them together.

What is the safest way to clean powder out of the baffle of the powder measure? Thanks.

I have heard of people wiping them out with a dryer sheet to get rid of the static.......

I leave mine in the measure. If reloading within a couple of days, it doesn't hurt at all as long as there isn't direct sunlight and you keep the cap on the measure.

Reloaded again this morning and tried the dryer sheet method and it took care of the static electricity problem completely so thanks guys!

Can't wait to go try these new loads... Have decided I don't really care for flake type powders for now... Maybe it'll grow on me later. Hopefully the other powders I am going to try are ball powders since I hear extruded can be a pain when loading from a powder measure.
