    Ammo Bros. Reloads

With all these threads of ranges going up in flames due to steel core/bi-metal bullets I decided to check my .223 ammo. My own reloads and my 1000 rounds of American Eagle are all good to go, non-magnetic... however, I bought a can of Ammo Bros. reloads a couple months ago and it turns out the magnet pretty much flew out of my hand onto the rounds. Sucks. Guess I have to wait to shoot it. Anyone else have any Ammo Bros reloads that are magnetic?

Did you check to see if they all had the same primers? I checked my can and the can was a mix of two different colored primers. Have not checked to see if they attract a magnet, yet.

They sell two different reloads in the cans. They well a version of ss109 (steel core) m193. My can was checked at burro and checked out fine.

The primers are all brass. All the can said on it was 62 gr. TMJ 500 rds. I actually moved all the ammo to a different ammo can and looked at just about every single round (I'm kind of paranoid, especially buying reloaded ammo from an unknown source). I found two that had primers that weren't fully seated and put them aside, the rest seemed good. I fired about 20 rounds out of that can when I first bought it and it seems like pretty good stuff other than the messed up primers and non-lead core bullets.

Nah, I like the ammo. It shoots good. I will just keep it around for zombie ammo or Mojave shooting.

as with all reloads, check each round. ive had more than a few rounds with squished bullets... one or two with cracked necks... no big deal to me, since I got used to checking ammo as a milsurp shooter.

i wish there was a way to get even cheaper bullets for loading. but lead is pretty much the cheapest out there.
