    RCBS or Hornady

So I want to maybe get the Hornady Lock-N-Load or RCBS Charge Master 1500 Powder Scale and Dispenser
Looking at both and from what I can tell the RCBS just has 30 programmable memory points but other then that they are essentially the same. Is it really that hard to type in the load you want?

Any one use them and like / dislike them?

I like my RCBS CMC. I used it for extruded powder only. That is where it shines.

I throw everything else via one of my uniflow's or Dillons.

I had my hornady break within a few days of using it. Sent it back and got a new one for free from hornady. The new one works fine, but I am a little uneasy about it turning into an expensive paper weight at a moments notice. I have a pretty strong background in embedded systems programming and this makes me question the integrity of their product, really isn't hard to make something like this work, and work well. After everything is said and done, I kind of wish I went RCBS, I guess you get what you pay for.

I have the RCBS Chargemaster and it has worked well for me after the straw trick. Some of the earlier models had teething problems just like the Hornady unit is having now.

Take a McDonald's straw (some people get a lot more creative), cut off a small piece and insert it into the dispensing tube. It prevents the powder from bunching and overthrowing.

Following are re-programming and straw tricks for the RCBS Chargemaster:

I'm a little confused thought the Hornady Lock-N-Load was a complete progressive reloading machine with it's own powder measure?

That would be the Hornady "LNL AP". Hornady is using "LNL" on many of their products, a marketing strategy.
