    Injuries

I am saving my brass (223) with plans to reload someday, but I don't want to go into it alone. I really don't want to blow anything apart either if you know what I mean...
I see builds now and then scheduled, but haven't seen anything on reloading. Does anyone do them ? I would like to sit in on one to get tips and advise.
One other question, 223 brass and 5.56 brass can they be one and the same when reloaded either in 223 or 5.56
    Thanks for any help

I signed up for an NRA Metallic Reloading class (3/5)...may be what you're looking for? You can look for them in your area.

      +1 for the NRA class.
There was a movement last year for calguns reloading classes but it didn't really pan out. Build party = drinking and bs'ing. Drinking + reloading = bad idea.

There is a lot of liability concern as well.

Good on you for taking it seriously..
Don't know about Central Ca but there are occasional clinics here in the Bay Area. Call and ask at any area shop that stocks components and you might find one.
There's a lot of good, informative videos on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...ding+ammo&aq=0

Order the Lyman 49th Reloading book now. Read all you can on the interwebs. Ask questions here. Get a Midway catalog. Read the 2nd, 5th 6th Stickies at the top of this subforum.

Yeah, everything is ".223" reloading-wise, there are no "5.56" dies, brass etc. Bullets are .224" diameter, of course.

          Thanks guys
I have a lot to get up to speed on. The .223, 5.56 with .224 Bullets alone must be a book on it own..

Really? I wondered what happened with the reloading clinics. If people were drinking then they should've stopped doing 'em.

OP, you should check the library if they have, "The ABC's of Reloading". Alot of stuff in there. If there isn't any NRA classes on reloading, find somebody that reloads to teach ya the ropes (but still read the ABC's and/or the Lyman manuals).

              Those were two different thoughts.
              1. The movement seemed to fizzle when wolf went back below $190 a case.
              2. Build parties are plentiful because people can hang out, bs, and be at different points in their build using different tools. People can't share 1 reloading press and there should Not be any distractions.

Huh? Am I doing something wrong

It is pretty safe really. Do lots of research, take the NRA class and/or get with an experinced reloader, take your time, and you'll be fine. And I guess don't drink while doing it

Some of the private ranges also have reloading clases. I saw one at the Angeles Shooting Range a while back.
