Has there ever been a group buy on ammo here? I see a lot of companies offering significant discounts with 5 or more cases of 5.56/.223 ammo being purchased. I'm looking to buy a couple cases but can't justify 5 or more. Good idea or ?

20 people confirm.
When it comes time to pay the lady, only 5 come through.
Someone is going to be on the hook for the ammo that those last 15 people wanted, and it's not going to be the vendor.
Then you'll have the guys that'll say "Wow, great price, but I can't justify a full case. Can someone split their case and ship me 6 boxes?"
And if it's not a local-only GB, you're going to have to pay for shipping twice. If it is local-only, then the organizer is going to have to get good at herding cats to make the deliveries. That's a lot of time and gas. Can't set a specific place and time to meet, because it's never going to work for everyone. You won't want people coming to your home, but you're always going to get that 9pm email "Hey, can I come over and get my ammo? I just got off work!"
Best way to do it, if you have the money, is to just buy the 5 cases, then put 3 or 4 of them for sale on the marketplace.- Rich
