used my lee pro 1000. had a couple of teething problems while i was setting it up (mostly primer issues), but after i got it zeroed in it was pumping out rounds pretty decently.

can't wait to try them out

Looks like you're using some Missouri Bullets there. What kind of gun are they going in?
Any idea if they'll feed properly?

I couldn't get SWCs to feed in my M&P45 when I first started out. I might just take another crack at it since they leave nice target holes and they're lighter so my casting lead will go farther.

yeah, theyre missouri bullets, definitely the cheapest i've seen online. they're going in my m&p .45

i made a few dummy rounds to adjust the OAL, i loaded them into a magazine and manually racked the slide and chambered each one.

once i'm able to test them i'll post a range report

I use Bear Creek Moly, 200gr., with 1.230 OAL. It feeds in all my 45's.

I'll be sure to follow your progress here since you even have the same gun. I bought my press used and it came with a handful of 200 grn SWCs. I played around with them while setting up the press, but they kept jamming. I went the RN route since then, but I have recently been looking into the SWCs again. It'll be nice to see how they work in your gun before I plunk down the $50 for a 6 cav. mold and handles.

I love Missouri Bullet, but you might want to check out Mastercast too. I've never bought from them, but the prices look good.

I still have about 10 boxes of Missouri Bullets to go through (in various calibers) that I bought before I got started casting. If you want cheap, you might want to look into rolling your own. I could cast a box of 500 of these bullets for about $15.

shot 110 rounds today. no pictures, cause i forgot to save a target (sorry)

rounds were nice and accurate though. i had one round that didn't want to seat right and the gun wouldnt go into battery. i'll have to examine that one and see what happened.

other than that everything was flawless. couldn't be happier.

bumpo, just pickup a 2 cav mold with handles for ~20 ish and give it a try, if it don't work you could sell the mold to me for 20 ish shiped

but really just get the lee mold and play with the seating depth I bet you can get them to feed.

just don't forget a taper crimp.

I hate buying things twice. Every time I used the 2 cav mold, I would think "I coulda just made 4 more". In addition, the sixers are a lot easier to break the sprue compared to the doubles. At least you don't have to whack the molds with a mallet.

Be sure to get their "softer cast" if you want to avoid leading problems. These are BHN 14. Turns out BHN 12 is even better for .45 ACP pressures.

Exact-a-mundo, bro. I cast, too, and rolling your own gives you so much more flexibility. Saves a lot of money, too, and makes it so you always have a supply of bullets. I shoot nearly exclusively loads with my own cast "boolits", and I have no leading problems, plus my loads are dead-on precise.

All I use, pretty much, are Lee 6-cav moulds, and I love 'em. With one of my moulds, I once did a run of about 6,000 boolits in about 5 hours actual casting time. With time to melt the alloy, it was more like 8 hours, but that still ain't bad. Imagine this scenario when running two melting pots in parallel....
