    Which .308 Win?

I'm totally new to firearms and I'll be hitting Angeles range as soon as the DROS process is over. Which .308 for your rifle / carbine / AR do you prefer?

I've heard some okay things about Federal. Any others?

    FGMM or Black Hills.
It'll be hard to make any other ammo shoot as well as either of these in your firearm.

If your looking at shooting at things with no real precision in mind such as blasting away at the range and not shooting for groups, then any .308win ammo will be good to go really.

If your looking for accuracy, or shooting groups/matches then as mentioned above Federal's Gold Medal Match, or Black Hills Ammunition. Those are the best thing you can go out and purchase from a manufacturer. You will find out soon enough that the best way to pull as much accuracy as you can from your rifle or handguns is to get into loading your own ammunition. This is a whole new hobby you may want to get into the future.

            Have fun with your rifle!

i have an m1a but i fired a friends saiga 308 and i have to say i was impressed recoil was no worse than my mak-90 it did mark up the brass a tad more than my m1a if you care about reloading but its still loadable

it was light and handy and the magazine seemed sturdy for russian plastic

Just about any -- If specific ammo is not specified - Start with the cheapest and see what your weapon likes best.
