But the headspace is controlled by the top of the shell holder and the bottom of the die. If you grind the top of the shell holder, you will increase headspace by the amount you grind off.

Did you set the die to cam over? Dis you remove the expander assembly?

If you want to send me a couple of your brass I'll resize them in my Lee 416 dies and send them back and that should tell you if its your dies or something else. I haven't had any problems with mine chambering in a Barrett M82A1 .416.

PM me if you want my address

I'm not sure I fully understand camming over. However, I lowered the top of the shell holder visibly...set the die to the top of it then gave it an extra turn. I have the Lee
416 dies but I think the chamber on my hand machined Tactilite is slightly tighter than the Barrett.
PS I am very grateful for all the advice I've been given on this topic.

Is your Tactilite a Supermatch barrel?

So now when you raise the ram all the way up, it bottoms out the shell holder against the bottom of the die? And you can feel the handle snapping toward the end of the stroke?

Did you try sizing the case with the expander/decapper assembly removed from the sizing die? How did those cases chamber?

I tried sizing without expander/decapper. Same result
