Best 357mag rifle?

As with most reloaders I tend to shop for firearms that I enjoy reloading. I've recently been reloading for my gp100 and like the 38/357 cartridges. I'd like to know what are some fun and accurate 357mag rifles that you've loaded for?

I keep hearing good things about the Marlin 1894c.

Thoughts?

How are the Rossi's? I have a couple Marlin Lever actions and a few Winchesters but never had the chance to play with a Rossi.

I have had a Rossi 357 in the past. I still have my Marlin 1894c. IMO Marlin is better rifle.

Can you explain why Marlin is better than the Rossi? Can you shoot the exact same 357mag rounds through both or do the rifles require a heavier bullet?

I shoot 148gr now and plan on going to 158gr later on my revolver. But with the flexibility of 357 I've heard the 357mag rifles can go to 180gr-200gr even.

Truncated cone does well, as do the traditional round noses. Some rifles are more problematic than others. Some will feed semi-wadcutters, some won't. I don't have one in .357 so I'll leave more specific suggestions to others.

I have worked with a Winchester 94 in 357 that really didn't like to feed. The action is originally designed for longer cartridges. You're probably better off with a Marlin or one of the clones of the 92 Winchester (Rossi, etc).

Truncated cone bullets are believed by many to have high accuracy potential in revolvers because of the self-aligning effect as the bullet enters the forcing cone. Round nose does fine in some guns and brilliantly in others.

I would definately look to the manuals for that answer, but I would take the time to work up a seperate load for each firearm. a revolver with a 4" - 6" barrel is a different beast than a lever action rifle.

^ this, but you should be able to find a revolver load that works reasonably in the rifle, if interchangeability is a big priority. It won't be optimal for the rifle, but it will work. It isn't like there is a whole lot of rifle specific .357 ammo on the market,
