    primer separation on depriming

    When loading .45 acp, lately I've been getting 2-4 cases per hundred where the bottom of the fired primer comes off leaving a ring of brass in the primer hole. jamming the press because the new primer only seats 1/2 way. I never really had this problem before. Anyone else?. Maybe something with my previous batch of primers?

    You sure it isn't a military primer crimp that needs to be reamed out?

      ive had primers tear leaving a ring but it is really rare

      what are the headstamps of the cases that you are noticing this problem in

      how long has this brass sat?

        It's part of the primer , not a crimp, I actually pulled a couple of the rings out. Its been sitting 6 to 12 months, Ya, at first I thought it might be old stuff that got mixed in, but I'm sure some of it was my reloads. Most of the brass has been Winchester or win match 98 but there were a few others CCI ect. here is a pic of one case with the ring in it and one I dug out of another case
