That looks expensive compared to the .308... lol. That's a nice beast of a round you've got there. Any pics of the gun to go with it?

These are practice loads using the 270 grain Hornady SPs. I seat them to where my seating die is set up for the 300 grain Barnes TSX that I use for my hunting load.

My target animal this trip is Cape Buffalo but I'll probably take some plains game (Impala, warthog, etc) after I get my Buff.

It depends on the country. IIRC, Cape Buffalo trophy fees in Namibia are about $8,000, Tanzania about $3,000, Zimbabwe runs about $2,000, Botswana is about 2,500, Zambia $4,000, South Africa is whatever they want to charge since they are ranch raised not free roaming.

On a trip that far and that expensive, dont big game hunters take a second firearm in case one malfunctions? I notice you got quick release mounts on your scope. Is that so if your scope screws up, you can go to iron sites? Good luck on your trip....

Yep, I'm hoping to have my LH 458 Win Mag in hand with some practice rounds through it also before I leave for a back up. I have a spare Leupold 2.5-8X with Talley QD rings already sighted in for the 375 also.
